Praising God

These last couple days have been the days of answered prayers!

Example One: I am cheap. We have to do our grocery shopping, and I am too cheap to buy any meat. These last couple days I have just been wanting a cheeseburger SO badly, but I did not want to spend any money on one. Today, there was a FREE barbecue for the town of Vail. At this barbecue, perhaps the best cheeseburger Ive ever had...and it was free! After that I was able to bond with one girl here, and we had a ton of fun at this playground. This afternoon was just such a blessing. And seriously, that cheeseburger was AMAZING!

Example Two: My job. My job has been frustrating because the hours are very uncertain until we are trained. I spent a lot of time praying about it the other night, just praying for hours and praying for training. Today I got a call from the person who will be training me, and he gave me hours for Friday and told me that I would be working a full week next week. Praise God!

Example Three: I was feeling very homesick and so desperate for just somehow connecting to Ledyard. I was just praying that I would be able to hear from at least one person back home. Later in the day, I got so many phone calls and messages from my friends at home and my mummsy. It was so nice to have long conversations with them and just to hear how they were all doing. It made me feel a lot better to be able to hear their voices and know that everyone was doing okay.

Example Four: One of my friends has been going through some rough times, and Ive just been praying that they come to know the Lord. This prayer has been going on for awhile, and Ive spent some time talking to her about my faith. She does not believe at all and made it obvious that she never wanted to believe. I found out the other day that she is seeking God now! She wants to know more and is eager to learn.

Example Five: I've been praying for close relationships on this trip between everyone. Today was just a day of bonding with some awesome girls out here. We had a car full of girls singing at the top of their lungs today, and it was so fun. Last night I was also able to bond with my roommates in a cuddlefest while eating popcorn and watching Whose Line is it Anyway?. I've been having so much fun out here with everyone, and I just cant stop laughing!

Example Six: Silence! I had some quiet time last night, and it was EPIC! I learned so much, fell even more in love with God, and got a clear message of what He wants me to do out here. I have never been able to hear God's voice so clearly. It was beyond comforting to be able to know what He wants me to do. He even led me to some amazing scripture regarding some things that have been heavy on my heart. It was incredible!

I have been praising God all day! He has just been so incredible to me and everyone on this project. For a while out here on this trip I was afraid I was falling into a spiritual slump because I was getting discouraged, but He just made it so apparent to me that He is by my side! Its been so encouraging to have my prayers answered and to be able to see Him working in the lives of everyone here.

Friends, please praise God with me, and let me know of all the great things God is doing in your lives :)!

Kim, I'm so happy for you. The Colorado mountains are some of my favorite places in the entire world. The landscape out there is so dynamic, ever moment of the day there is some different aspect lit up by the moving sun and the clouds play games casting new contrasts on everything. Small mosaics of the clouds floating up the mountains casting shadows on the trees. I wish I was there with you. Of course I wouldn't trade the last ten days for anything, I got to live in the bleeding jungle. There were monkeys and iguanas and armadillos! Monkeys!!! I saw a naturally occurring monkey!

God is so good in every situation, and my prayers are with you friend. Looking forward to future updates.
